The ImageFader is a classic slideshow where each image is faded against each other. Selecting Images and URLs Make sure you have the same number of Images as you have URLs, when specifying images. Don't use images that are too big. Note that these images will be included into the SWF file, and it may swell to enormous proportions. Try modifying the compression setting to decrease the SWF file size. If you don't want to have one image with a link, leave the line empty in the URL field. Fade Speed and Image Pause The fade speed will set the speed of the fading effect. The image pause is the time period before the image being displayed fades away. The Background color The background color will have little affect on the effect. Only when two images are fading against each other and they are half way through the process, then the background color will appear briefly during that process. This is due to the imperfection of the fading process. We recommend putting this color to black or white, depending on what images are used. Limitations Due to a limitation in Flash Player 5.0, you are limited to a maximum of 200 images in the Flash applet. More than that, and the applet will not work. Other settings There are other settings that are discussed on the following topics from the Advanced Effect Maker documentation: The Flash Applet Size Parameters Entering Text Or Files Working With Text Fields URL Links and Frame Targets Working With File Fields And File Lists Working With Time Delays and Pauses Working With Color Buttons Compression Ratios for images Working with Check Boxes Combining Flash applet effects
This applet also has its own tutorial: Tutorial - Making an applet with ImageFader (commercial accounts only)
Version history 1.1 : The applet now supports exclusion of links by leaving the URL lines empty in the URL fields. Added support for ActionScript loadMovie command (Flash project compatibility). Anibal Wainstein
